かつて鉱山が栄え、温泉街が栄え、そして静寂が戻った本郷町。
その静けさの中に建つ、数寄屋造りの一軒家です。
坪庭、土間、浴室、寝室、パブリックスペース。
一日一組だけの空間。
Hongo-cho — where mines once flourished, hot springs thrived, and now stillness has returned.
A sukiya-style house standing in that quiet.
Tsuboniwa, doma, bathroom, bedroom, and common area.
A space for just one group per day.

これまで私は、国際芸術祭のコーディネーターや記録集のアートディレクターの仕事を通して、国内外100組以上の作家が土地と出会うことに立ち会ってきました。その中で、いつしか心が向くようになっていったのは、ただ在るということです。
数年前、9歳の息子とカミーノを歩いたことがあります。目的地にたどり着くことよりも、ただ一歩ずつ味わう世界が、ずっと確かなものに感じられる。スペインの大西洋を望む岩場で、息子が「お父さん、俺今からっぽだよ」と叫んだ時の景色は、一生覚えていると思います。
私たちが属性を超えて「ただ在る」とはどういうことなのか。その問いをそっとStill Pointに置いて、この土地の季節や文化とともにお待ちしてます。
I'm Sosei Sato, an editor and field curator.
Through my work as an art festival coordinator and art director of exhibition records, I've spent years witnessing encounters between over 100 artists and the land, in Japan and abroad. Somewhere along the way, I found myself drawn to simply being there.
A few years ago, I walked the Camino de Santiago with my nine-year-old son. Reaching the destination mattered less than simply savoring the world, one step at a time. On a rocky outcrop overlooking Spain's Atlantic coast, my son shouted, "Dad, I'm empty right now." I don't think I'll ever forget that view.
What does it mean for us to simply be, beyond our roles and attributes? I've quietly set that question down here at Still Point, and look forward to welcoming you amid this land's seasons and culture.
